If you try to tighten the nuts the washers sink down into the board therefore not serving their purpose. I had to go to the hardware store to get bigger washers to fit. May be just mine but just thought you should know before you take it out. You may have to get bigger washers....I got a set of regular washers. It uses bolts with sturdy thumb type screws and your done. Also, can't go wrong with good solid marine plywood. In the end, its a motor mount and it does what it is designed to do for the intex boats. Holds that little Minn Kota Endura 30 really good. The mount can accept a 3.5hp but on the Excursion boats you can only put up to a 1.5hp or up to 18 lbs motor weight.
